As a toddler I always knew that I would be in the beauty industry. I received my cosmetology license in 1990 and my teaching certification in 1994. For over 30 years I was a hairstylist and more than 20 years in public education in Texas. After teaching for several years my mentor suggested in 2008, I get a degree in counseling. I felt like as a hairstylist I had already been a therapist for many years. So, I told my mentor thanks but no thanks, not interested. It wasn't until the year 2018 I started thinking about becoming a therapist. You see, I had been on my own personal healing journey starting in 2014 and if it were not for the journey I had been on I would have never been able to receive the assignment. Once I received the assignment, I was able to better understand my purpose for this next half of my life. Being able to work through my traumas, forgive myself and others, and understanding and making peace with my life experiences have led me to become the best version of who I am today. You see, I would not have been able to accomplish this part of my life without my Soul Coach preparing me for the journey. It was difficult and many times I felt like quitting. Thankfully, my Soul Coach would not let me give up as she saw who I was to become. So, here I am today a Licensed Professional Counselor able to assist others on their journey to healing. It’s a beautiful thing!!!
